Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from Nairobi and departure to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Drive through the scenic Great Rift Valley, with a stop at the viewpoint for photographs. Continue to the Mara and arrive around lunchtime. After lunch and a short rest, enjoy your first afternoon game drive. Explore the savannah plains in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and other wildlife.
After breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive in the Maasai Mara. Spend the day exploring different sections of the reserve in search of the Big Five and other wildlife. The Mara is particularly famous for its large populations of lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and wildebeest. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the reserve before continuing with the afternoon game drive.
After breakfast, check out and depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. Travel through the Great Rift Valley and arrive at Lake Nakuru in time for lunch. Proceed for an afternoon game drive through the park. Lake Nakuru is famous for its populations of black and white rhinos, Rothschild's giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and various bird species. You may also encounter lions, leopards and other wildlife. Return to your lodge in the evening.
After breakfast depart for Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival, visit Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, where you can enjoy a guided walking safari among giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas and other wildlife. Later, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, with opportunities to see hippos and numerous bird species, including African fish eagles and pelicans. Proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart for Amboseli National Park, travelling through the Kenyan countryside. Arrive in Amboseli around lunchtime and check in at your lodge. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is famous for its large herds of elephants and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain. Continue exploring the park until sunset before returning to your lodge.
Enjoy a full day exploring Amboseli National Park. Start with an early morning game drive when wildlife is most active and when the views of Mount Kilimanjaro are often at their best. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then continue with another game drive exploring the park's swamps, plains and woodland areas. Look out for elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and numerous bird species. Enjoy lunch at the lodge before an afternoon game drive and return to the lodge in the evening.
After breakfast, check out and depart for Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya's largest protected areas. Enter the park and enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge. Tsavo East is famous for its red-dust-covered elephants, vast savannah landscapes and diverse wildlife. After lunch, continue with an afternoon game drive, searching for elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife.
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Tsavo East before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Check out and depart for Tsavo West National Park. Continue with a game drive en route to your lodge. After lunch, explore Tsavo West, known for its dramatic volcanic landscapes, lava flows, hills and diverse wildlife. Visit the famous Mzima Springs, where clear underground water creates natural pools inhabited by hippos and crocodiles, subject to park conditions. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and begin your journey back to Nairobi. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Kenyan countryside, with a stop for lunch along the way. Continue to Nairobi and arrive in the late afternoon or early evening. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or the airport, marking the end of your 9-day Kenya safari.
