Tour Plan

Day 1: Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park

Day begins with pick up at your hotel or airport. Later proceed on a 4-hour drive to Lake Mburo, the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks, with over 300 bird species, like the black-bellied bustard, and probably the best place to view acacia-associated birds, among others. While on a game drive or a guided walking safari, expect to see zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos, oribi, giraffes, defassa waterbuck, leopard, topi, and reedbuck, among others.

When you arrive, you may consider doing a night game drive, which is optional at a cost of $30, especially if you want to see nocturnal animals among others, including hyenas, snakes, and leopards that are rare and shy. Although they can be spotted during the day, they are most active at night. Or else spend your time relaxing at the accommodation after that long drive.

Day 2: Morning game drive, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Start your day with a hearty breakfast, then go on a morning game drive through the park's scenic beauty. Keep an eye out for the eland antelope, numerous zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and other Savannah inhabitants. Afterward, return to the accommodation for lunch, check out, and transfer to the famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Bwindi is home to nearly 300 mountain gorillas, roughly half of the global gorilla population. With several habituated groups to trek, this forest offers unparalleled gorilla experiences. Upon arrival, you will do less but relax at the booked accommodation in preparation for the thrilling adventure that awaits you the next morning.

Day 3: Bwindi Forest gorilla trekking, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi to relax

After breakfast and a comprehensive briefing by a ranger guide, immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of the rainforest. Despite its density, the forest offers spectacular scenery and numerous animal pathways that make it accessible to travelers. As you track the movements of these majestic primates, the distance and terrain may vary, but the thrill of the experience remains unparalleled.

Once you encounter a gorilla group, you'll be allowed to spend a precious hour with them—a truly unforgettable experience. Afterward, return to your accommodation for lunch (you may choose to take a packed lunch while on the trek to keep you energized), check out, and embark on a transfer to the enchanting Lake Bunyonyi. This stunning lake is surrounded by lush, green-terraced hills, but its true magic lies in its 29 islands of varying shapes and sizes, scattered across the water like jewels. You could spend hours mesmerized by their beauty.

Day 4: Travel back to Entebbe

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast while taking in the breathtaking views of the Bunyonyi Islands, perfectly framed by the serene lake waters. Afterward, embark on a drive back to Entebbe, enjoying the scenic landscapes along the way. En route, indulge in a satisfying lunch in Mbarara City, a delightful stop before arriving at Entebbe in the late afternoon.
