Witness the dramatic power of the Nile at Murchison Falls, enjoy game drives across the savannah in search of elephants, lions, and buffalo, and cruise along the Kazinga Channel teeming with hippos and birds at Queen Elizabeth National Park. Conclude with the serene beauty of Lake Mburo, home to zebras and antelopes. This safari blends adventure, wildlife, and stunning landscapes for an unforgettable Ugandan experience.
As you arrive in the country, our driver guide will be on standby to usher you into the country. Then you will be briefed on how your 9 days Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, and Lake Mburo National Parks safari will run. From Entebbe International Airport, head straight to Kampala for a city tour, which will begin from the former torture chambers of Amin in Lubiri. Here you will learn about the dark history of the victims who fell on the opposite side of the former President Idi Amin. After here, head for the Lubiri palace or Bulange Mengo, which is the Kabaka’s palace for the sitting king of Buganda. Explore the traditions of the Baganda people, like their values, norms, and clans. Have a local dish for your lunch before proceeding to the Kasubi tombs, a burial place for the royal kings of Buganda. Conclude your city tour with a visit to the religious center of the Bahai temple. At dusk, you will check into a hotel in the city for dinner and rest
Check out of your hotel in the city after your early breakfast, and drive to Murchison Falls National Park with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. This sanctuary hosts the only population of southern white rhinos in the country. Upon arriving here at Ziwa, you will be welcomed by the rangers and then head into the sanctuary deep in the wilderness on a rhino tracking experience. A few steps into the sanctuary, you will encounter these incredible rhinos relaxing as others graze while keeping your distance to avoid stressing them into aggression. An hour with them will be enough to bless you with epic scenic views of the sanctuary and also other animals like warthogs, antelopes, zebras, and giraffes, among others. Drive out of the sanctuary to proceed with the travel to Murchison Falls National Park with an en route lunch. Check into your lodge later at the start of the night, upon arrival in the park for dinner and sleep.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast and then embark on a game drive safari in the savannah wilderness. Here, you will encounter several wildlife species like four of the Big Five lions, elephants, leopards, and buffaloes to complete your Big Five experience that started with rhino tracking at Ziwa. Warthogs, hyenas, antelopes, giraffes, and waterbuck, are also some of the animals commonly encountered in the park. Drive to the top of the falls and spot the strongest waterfall in the world, the Murchison Falls. Return to the lodge for lunch from here. Take a boat cruise safari at the bottom of the falls immediately after your lunch, capturing the beautiful scenic view of the waterfall in the backdrop as you sail on the Victoria Nile. Encounter the hippos and crocodiles, as they cool in the waters of the Nile and also bask in the hot sun. Return with the sun as it sets to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Upon finishing breakfast at your lodge in Murchison Falls National Park, check out and journey for about 6 hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park, concluding your stay in Murchison Falls. This journey is quite an adventurous one with incredible scenic views from the lush savannah grasslands as you get closer to the park and the dotted business centers on the roadside, with interactions with the locals while on a lunch en route. Before nightfall, you will be checking into your lodge in the park for dinner and rest.
At sunrise, have breakfast and head to Kasenyi for an exhausting game drive experience where various animals will be spotted, like lions, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, waterbucks, and hyenas, among others. The Kasenyi savannah plains play a vital role in crafting epic game drive safaris for wildlife encounters like no other area in the park. After your game drive, return to the lodge for lunch. A boat cruise experience on the Kazinga Channel is best done in the afternoon after lunch. Here, board a boat from the Katungulu landing site and sail across the channel, exploring enough corners, viewing the large schools of hippos relaxing in the water. The channel also hosts countless Nile crocodiles, as some can be spotted on the banks catching their breath, adding to the visiting animals on the banks like buffaloes, elephants, and antelopes. Dinner will be served later upon arrival at your lodge from the boat cruise experience at dusk, and rest.
From the savannah activities, you will venture into the Kyambura Gorge for a chimpanzee trekking experience after your breakfast and the pre-trekking briefing. Kyambura Gorge, also known as the Valley of Apes, is an incredible landmark in the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park, hosting these playful chimpanzee primates. After being grouped in groups of 8 people, head into the gorge behind a ranger guide who leads you to the habitats of the primates.
Trekking through the gorge for a few hours, you will encounter the chimpanzees as they go by with their daily chores. Spend an hour observing and taking pictures, and later return to the briefing center where the driver guide will take you back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will explore the twin lakes in Rubirizi with a local guide who has ample knowledge of their formation to the ancient stories that surround them. You can choose to take a swim in the crystal clear lake and experience nature first-hand.
From Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will journey to Lake Mburo National Park immediately after your breakfast and check out of the lodge. Heading to Lake Mburo, expect to have scenic views of the tea plantations that paint the atmosphere bright green. You can choose to stop at the tea plantations for a tea experience as you interact with the local farmers, and also take good pictures. Proceed with your journey with an en route lunch before arriving at your lodge in the park by evening for dinner and rest.
Embark on a walking safari right from the lodge after your breakfast in the lead of a guide ranger who ensures your safety and also takes you to the animals. Given the park's high concentration of animals and with no lions, it is ideal for walking safaris, where you are given a chance to enjoy the savannah more practically. This walking safari will take you until noon, when you head back to the lodge for lunch. Drive to Lake Mburo, the largest lake in the park, in the afternoon for a boat cruise experience. This vast lake is the ideal hotspot to spot the aquatic species of the park, such as hippos and crocodiles. This lake also doubles as the major water source to the park, meaning it hosts large numbers of animals coming to the banks to quench their thirst. Therefore, while on this boat cruise, expect to spot other animals on the banks of the lake, such as buffaloes, impalas, zebras, elands, etc. Return to the lodge in the evening as the night crows closer and have dinner and sleep.
Wake up to the final shot at breakfast in your lodge as you check out, preparing for departure. Our guide driver, just as he started with you, will be there to drive you back to the airport or your preferred hotel in Entebbe for your final destination with an en route lunch to conclude your 9 days Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, and Lake Mburo National Parks safari.
